April Carver joined Downeast Institute in September 2025 as manager of finance and administration. She brings 36 years of experience in elementary and secondary education finance, including extensive knowledge of federal and state grant reporting.

April has lived in Downeast Maine her entire life and was educated at the University of Maine System. The daughter of a fisherman, she grew up on the ocean and developed a love for it at an early age. She is excited to contribute to the continuance of marine research and science education.
