Quahogs

Quahogs, Mercenaria mercenaria,  are an increasing important hard shell clam in Maine. DEI has conducted research on producing quahogs in the hatchery, farming, recruitment levels, and determining the effects of low pH (ocean acidification) vs. predation on quahogs. Click below to read more about DEI’s quahog research projects:
