Tessa joined Downeast Institute in Fall 2022. She will be assisting with the set up and running of research projects as well as data collection. These projects include researching techniques for spawning and raising scallop larvae, examining the fecundity of clams in relation to age, and much more!
Tessa graduated from Colby College in 2021, majoring in environmental science and history. For her capstone, she focused on detecting sturgeon in the Kennebec River using eDNA. Previously, Tessa has worked on an ocean acidification project with Mook Sea Farm and focused on mudflat and rocky intertidal research as an intertidal ecology technician at Schoodic Institute. She enjoys hiking and camping and is excited to explore more of Downeast Maine. She is originally from Yarmouth, Maine.
