Kyle Pepperman became Executive Director in September 2025, bringing years of hands-on experience in marine science, aquaculture, and community-based resource management. He earned his B.S. in Marine Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Maine at Machias in 2009.

Originally from Montoursville, Pennsylvania, Kyle now lives in Marshfield, Maine, with his wife and two children.

In his role, Kyle supports municipalities and individuals interested in public stock enhancement and sustainable shellfish aquaculture. He also operates a small demonstration oyster farm in a repurposed lobster pound on Beals Island, producing premium Three Islands oysters for the commercial market. Additionally, he serves as the project coordinator for a restorative aquaculture initiative aimed at developing a sustainable soft-shell clam resource for the town of Beals.
