Cody Joudet is from Friendship and Waldoboro, Maine. He is a 2010 graduate of the University of Maine at Machias with dual degrees: a B.A. in Biology and a B.S. in Marine Biology. Cody worked for three years as a field/laboratory assistant for Dr. Beal surveying the soft-bottom intertidal community of Cobscook Bay.
Cody is responsible for all bivalve culture at DEI, and is currently involved in a variety of culture projects working with Arctic surfclams, Mactromeris polynyma, razor clams, Ensis leei, American oysters, Crassostrea virginica, and European oysters, Ostrea edulis. Cody’s work with Arctic surfclams is funded through a grant from the National Sea Grant College Program (Aquaculture), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) through their Saltonstall-Kennedy program.
