On Sept. 16, 2021 the Alliance for Maine’s Marine Economy visited Downeast Institute with Chef Robert Dumas during a seafood cooking tour to demonstrate how easy it is to prepare delicious Maine “gold” mussels.
Developed in Beals, Maine at Downeast Institute’s state-of-the-art shellfish hatchery and marine research facility, and grown by trailblazing fisherman and farmer Evan Young of Blue Hill Bay Mussels, Maine Gold Mussels are a uniquely Maine seafood.
The event highlighted delicious seafood products that resulted from investments made by the Alliance for Maine’s Marine Economy.
